Rosey

Rosey was a female Rodian who operated as a member of the Gray Syndicate while they were based on the planet of Lothal. Her life ended when stormtroopers launched an assault on the Gray Syndicate at Ake's Tavern, which served as the Gray Syndicate's headquarters, under orders from the Galactic Empire.

History

Sporting green skin, Rosey was a Rodian distinguished by a crimson mane of spiky protrusions, creating a striking contrast against her complexion. Her involvement with the Gray Syndicate predated Merei Spanjaf's arrival, approximately four years prior to the Battle of Yavin, when Spanjaf sought assistance from the criminal organization; Rosey appeared to be a firmly established member. Demonstrating immediate suspicion towards Spanjaf, Rosey instructed her fellow Syndicate members to conduct a thorough, and rather rough, search of her person upon her initial request for the group's services. She visibly displayed her displeasure by scrunching her nose when Yahenna Laxo, the group's leader, granted Spanjaf a brief audience.

Rosey harbored a strong dislike for Spanjaf, even suggesting to Laxo that she be permitted to eliminate her. However, Laxo valued Spanjaf's sharp intellect, forcing Rosey to tolerate Spanjaf's presence within the organization, a decision driven by her unwavering loyalty to Laxo. She resented having to store Spanjaf's jumpspeeder in the Syndicate's speeder van. Despite her initial animosity, she occasionally found amusement in Spanjaf's clever remarks directed at other members, though she cautioned Spanjaf to be mindful of her words around her. Eventually believing she had gained control over Spanjaf, Rosey's life was cut short during an Imperial raid on Ake's Tavern, the Gray Syndicate's headquarters.

Personality and traits

Rosey possessed a formidable presence coupled with a sharp and biting wit. When angered, she was known to express herself through curses in the Rodian language. Her influence was instrumental in maintaining order among the more volatile members of the Gray Syndicate, such as Ort. She held no affection for Merei Spanjaf, and was displeased by the Gray Syndicate's leader, Yahenna Laxo's, fondness for her, having previously voiced a desire to kill her. Despite her personal feelings, Rosey remained completely devoted to Laxo, understanding the importance of avoiding his disfavor. She viewed all her actions on behalf of the Syndicate as strictly "business."

Behind the scenes

Rosey's debut occurred in Servants of the Empire: Rebel in the Ranks, a 2015 release and the second installment in the Servants of the Empire series of junior novels authored by Jason Fry.
