OHS3842-03, at one point known as Astigone, was an Outer Rim Territories planet located in the Ash Worlds sector. Around 25,100 BBY, Astigone was designated as the Eighth Throne of the empire of the Tionese conqueror Xim. Over the subsequent millennia, the knowledge of Astigone's location became lost and was subject to much scholarly debate. The xenoarchaeologist Henrietya Antilles ultimately re-discovered Astigone's identity with the help of a document found in the Great Duinarbulon Mausoleum.
OHS3842-03 was the alphanumerical designation of a lush planet located in the OHS3842-03 system, a part of the Ash Worlds sector in the Slice of the Outer Rim Territories. Between 25,120 BBY and 25,096 BBY, it was linked by hyperlanes to the Balshebr, Kveror, and Turallun systems.
Astigone was the Eighth Throne of Xim's empire.
By approximately 25,100 BBY, the empire of the Tionese conqueror Xim expanded into the region the Tionese named the Kiirium Reaches. That area of space included OHS3842-03, which was then known as Astigone and designated as the Eighth of the Xim Thrones—the politically and ceremonially central worlds of his empire. Astigone's location was eventually recorded in a document that came to reside in the Great Duinarbulon Mausoleum on the world Duinarbulon. Nevertheless, millennia before the reign of the Galactic Empire, the precise knowledge of what location Astigone's name—and even that of the Kiirium Reaches—referred to had been lost. Scholars extensively debated the matter, and eventually, many luxury resorts on the Mid Rim world Centares became named after Astigone.
The merchant, philosopher, and historian Bleys Harand at one point authored a travelogue, Travels Amid Strange Stars, concerning his visit to the worlds of the Tion Cluster. In it, Harand noted that the purpose of his voyage—to discover a contemporary visual depiction of Xim—was "less consequential" than testing a theory concerning the coordinates of Astigone. Eventually, Harand's student Henrietya Antilles, a xenoarchaeologist active during the Galactic Civil War, re-discovered the Great Duinarbulon Mausoleum, and Astigone's identity became known once again due to the information in the document—named the "Antilles Map"—stored therein.
OHS3842-03 was introduced via a label on a map by Modi included in the August 18, 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, which was authored by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry. The book placed OHS3842-03 in grid square T-7. OHS3842-03, or Astigone, was first described as a planet by the December 7, 2009 StarWars.com Hyperspace article "Xim Week: The History of Xim and the Tion Cluster" by Fry. In one instance, a map included with the article misidentified the planet as the Seventh Throne of Xim's empire.
OHS3842-03 was originally meant to be mentioned in the 2012 reference book The Essential Guide to Warfare by Fry and Paul R. Urquhart; however, the section that would have mentioned it was cut before the book's release. The information regarding the planet was later released in 2013 as part of Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Warfare Author's Cut, a series of articles published on the StarWars.com Blog by Fry and Del Rey editor Erich Schoeneweiss containing various cut content from The Essential Guide to Warfare.
