Safe world

A safe world was a location that was established as a safe location by the nascent Alliance to Restore the Republic and were allied with it during the early rebellion against the Galactic Empire. Several safe worlds included Alderaan, Ralltiir, Sanctuary, Kashyyyk, New Plympto, Sullust, Ord Pardron, Chandrila, Isis, and Mon Cala.

Following the formation of the New Republic, much of the data gathered by the Rebel Alliance was turned over to it. However, Leia Organa and other leaders purposely held back data on a number of safe worlds, secret hyperspace routes and bolt-holes as a hedge against potential disaster.
