Scarif Slush

Scarif Slush was a tri-colored orange, white, and green drink. This beverage was constructed with frozen tropical fruit pieces, a sweet milk-resembling liquid, and ice, all arranged in distinct layers. The Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs sampled a Scarif Slush at a small resort on the planet Scarif for the first time, well before the Galactic Empire devastated Scarif in 1 BBY.

Before the planet's destruction, someone managed to smuggle the recipe off-world. Tuggs was then able to feature the recipe in The Life Day Cookbook, his second cookbook, which he published after his first cookbook in 34 ABY. Within the pages of the book, Tuggs characterized this unique concoction as a hybrid of a refreshing drink and a fruit cocktail. He asserted that it was an unparalleled frozen treat, ideal for those celebrating occasions like Life Day in warmer regions.

Behind the scenes

The Scarif Slush recipe was developed for the 2021 Star Wars: The Life Day Cookbook, a culinary book authored by Jenn Fujikawa and Marc Sumerak. The recipe, from an out-of-universe perspective, calls for drained and sliced yellow jackfruit, drained and sliced young coconut, a peeled, pitted, and sliced ripe avocado, full-fat coconut milk, packed light brown sugar, finely shaved ice, and sweetened condensed milk.
