Sith'ari

The Sith'ari was a prophesied individual in Sith lore believed to be one who would be concieved of the Force itself and lead them to glory. Historian Beaumont Kin, who discovered writings regarding prophecies of the Sith'ari on Exegol, believed these prophecies to be analogues to the Jedi foretellings of a "Chosen One" meant to bring balance back to the Force. Kin supported his suspicions with an annotated scroll found by the Exegol Excavation Project that suggested Darth Sidious, a Dark Lord of the Sith and former Galactic Emperor, believed Anakin Skywalker, later the Sith Lord Darth Vader, to be the foretold Sith'ari.

In the current Star Wars canon, the Sith'ari was mentioned in the 2024 reference book Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, which was written by Chris Kempshall. The title originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first used in the 2003 video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and described a figure "free of limits" who would lead the Sith into both destruction and glory. Significant fan debate emerged over who the actual Sith'ari was. While the 2008 reference book The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia would describe the Sith Lord Darth Bane as the Sith'ari, the 2012 text Book of Sith: Secrets from the Dark Side featured multiple Sith proclaim themselves to be the Sith'ari in what was intended to be a running joke by author Daniel Wallace, who believed every Sith he featured would want to "claim the title of Ultimate Sith."
