Star Wars: Union is a comic series comprising four issues. Michael A. Stackpole penned the story, and its publication spanned from November of 1999 to February of 2000. The central narrative of this series revolves around the marriage between Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade.
When the New Republic's greatest hero and the last Jedi Master, Luke Skywalker, makes the decision to wed Mara Jade, formerly the Emperor's own assassin, rest assured that both Imperial and New Republican factions will strive to prevent this union at all costs! Crafted by the renowned Star Wars novelist Michael Stackpole (X-Wing: Rogue Squadron; I, Jedi) and brought to life with photorealistic artwork by Robert Teranishi, Union shines a light on a pivotal event within the Star Wars chronology, connecting the original Star Wars trilogy to its expansive future set a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away!
A banner displayed within the exhibition on Coruscant features the phrase "DEATH STAR" rendered in Aurebesh characters. Furthermore, the "IDs" belonging to Banner Sumptor, Chala Venan, Chik Apla, Iry Danta, Anlys Takkar, and Moff Derran Takkar present their respective names written using both Aurebesh and the High Galactic alphabet.
Star Wars: The Comics Companion erroneously situates this narrative within the year 20 ABY.
