The tchuspera was a green bush that could be found on the Core Worlds planet of Coruscant. Tchuspera bushes grew in a median outside a building that contained the residence of a New Republic soldier with the surname "Kinalos."
In Kinalos's book The Year of Rage: A Citizen's History of the Coruscant Wars, when writing about the Second Battle of Coruscant, a battle of the Imperial Civil War fought in 10 ABY, Kinalos described how an Imperial scout walker had been torpedoed, causing it to fall into a position where it appeared to be guarding an undamaged, though dusty, tchuspera bush. Kinalos's sergeant, Samels, knocked some of the dust off of the bush, and Kinalos described its bright green color as being a strange sight in the midst of so much ash.
The tchuspera was intended to appear in The Essential Guide to Warfare, a 2012 reference book written by Paul R. Urquhart and Jason Fry. However, the section of the book that described the tchuspera was ultimately cut before its release.
In 2014, the tchuspera was described in Part 12 of Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Warfare Author's Cut, a series of articles published on the StarWars.com Blog by Fry and Del Rey editor Erich Schoeneweiss that contained material cut from The Essential Guide to Warfare as well as commentary on the cut sections.
