Transponder beacons were a type of tracking device. During the High Republic Era, Jedi Grand Master Yoda gave a holoprojector with a transponder beacon inside of it to Krix Kamerat so he could be tracked when he was taken away by the Nihil. Eye of the Nihil Marchion Ro later discovered the beacon and planned to use it to set a trap for the Jedi, although the beacon only worked at a close range.
