An ice-encrusted world, featuring rocky mountains and vast plains, existed within the galaxy. This planet possessed a breathable atmosphere coupled with a frigid and snowy climate. Somewhere in the period spanning 40 BBY to 32 BBY, a prison transport headed for a penal colony was seized by inmates associated with the Final Occultation cult; subsequently, the vessel was left to drift in orbit above the icy planet.
During this period, the Sith Lord known as Darth Sidious identified an opportunity to dispatch his apprentice, Darth Maul, to the vessel with the objective of eliminating the Final Occultation, whom Sidious considered to be enemies. Following the landing of his customized Star Courier, the Scimitar, within one of the ship's hangars, the hangar's airlock was deactivated, resulting in the Scimitar being expelled into the void of space. Maul managed to reactivate the airlock, then utilized his ship's autopilot system to guide it towards the ice planet for a later retrieval. After completing his task, Maul made his exit from the ship via an ejection pod, landing on the planet below. The prison ship itself began to spin out of control towards the planet, eventually crashing down to its surface. Maul briefly communicated with his Sith master and then flew his ship away from the planet.
The icy planet made its debut in the inaugural edition of Star Wars: Darth Maul – Black, White & Red, penned by Benjamin Percy, with illustrations by Stefano Raffaele, and released on April 24th, 2024.
