Zohra

Zohra was a native of the planet Devalok, known for its gardens. Growing up, she spent ample time at the Enki greenhouse where was head gardener. She would walk with the assorted flora, chase around the mist gardens, and picnic under . Like other children from her neighborhood, she enjoyed splashing around the old fountain at the heart of the neighborhood, climbing its statues.

Once, for the , Zohra dressed up as Uma Kalidi, a legendary Jedi from Devalok. Although many other younglings dressed as Kalidi, made her a custom toy lightsaber. Even though it shone green instead of blue, the accessory made her costume stand out among the parade crowds. Like other kids who idolized Jedi, she unsuccessfully tried to use the Force.

During the Clone Wars, Devalok was invaded by the Confederacy of Independent Systems and its droid army despite its lack of strategic importance. As the garden-rich planet burned from Separatist bombardment, many citizens fled. Zohra and her family, however, were left behind. They hid in their apartment for at least a week as their supplies diminished and their city was decimated. Eventually Zohra's parents left to get supplies, crossing the war zone in hopes of finding food in the vaults of the Enki greenhouse. Zorah was left alone to care after her six-year old younger brother, Dumuz. Although they typically returned from supply runs after a few hours, their parents did not return that day.

In their boarded-up apartment, the younglings remained quiet, rationing their water, watching their neighborhood crumble and burn. By five days after their parents went missing, Zohra had given up hope of their return or of being saved by the Republic. Disillusioned as she was, Zohra told the story of Uma Kalidi to Dumuz. She allowed herself to be swept away in playing with Dumuz when they were startled by the sound of approaching battle droids.

Zohra and Dumuz quickly hid in the cupboard before the droids blasted through their door. The droids did not initially find the children, but soon switched to infrared scanning. The droids forcibly detained Zorah and Dumuz and deemed them to be dangerous rebels.

The droids prepared to execute the younglings, but were stopped by Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and his Padawan, Anakin Skywalker. After ensuring the kids' safety, the two Jedi hatched a plan to escort the children to the , one of the few remaining Republic strongholds in the city. The Jedi relied on Zohra's knowledge of the area to plan their route.

Partway through their journey, Zohra grew tired of her brother's repeated questioning of their parents' safety, and she broke the news that they were almost certainly dead. Dumuz, however, still felt that their parents lived and were calling out for them. The Jedi believed this was the Force communicating through the child, so the group changed their route and headed towards the Enki greenhouse.

The group eventually made it to the ruins of the greenhouse, and the Jedi used the Force to forge a path to the vaults. They finally broke through and found the parents as Separatists attacked their location. The Jedi were able to subdue their attackers, and a Republic LAAT swooped in for extraction.

Following the escape from Devalok, Zohra and her family found themselves on a capital ship converted into a refugee camp en route to Naboo. As they traveled through hyperspace, Zohra told Dumuz a new story of Jedi: one about the heroics of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker.

By the time of the Siege of Devalok, Zohra was quite disillusioned. When she was younger, she enjoyed more childhood whimsy and reveled in the naïveté of youth. Being surrounded by war took a toll on her spirit, especially after her parents did not return from their supply run. While her brother, Dumuz, clung to his youth, believing in hope and being rescued by the Republic, Zohra believed the worst outcome was most likely. She believed her parents were dead and that they would soon be too.

Even so, when rescued by Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, Zohra found herself temporarily amazed by their presence and abilities. During their daring journey across the war zone, Zohra's pessimism boiled over, lashing out at Dumuz over his insistence that their parents were still alive. Zohra felt that changing their destination to the Enki greenhouse was imprudent, and seeing her city in ruins only made her more saddened.

After the Jedi rescued her parents and fought off Separatist forces, Zohra was stunned to the point that Anakin needed to prompt her to board the LAAT. Later, once safely aboard the capital ship headed towards Naboo, she found herself healing, telling a new story of Jedi heroics.
