The comic tale titled "A Race for Answers" premiered as the initial story in Star Wars Adventures (2017) 23 on July 3, 2019.
Following the events of the Battle of Endor, Lando Calrissian and Chewbacca embarked on a mission to thwart pirates who were preying on Alliance to Restore the Republic supply routes. Chewbacca was not thrilled about leaving the celebrations on Endor, but Calrissian insisted he accompany him so Han Solo and Leia Organa could have some privacy. Calrissian received intelligence about a former podracer with links to the pirate activity. This podracer was scheduled to participate in a race, which Calrissian intended to enter in order to confront him.
They traveled to Neskar Station aboard the Millennium Falcon for the race event. Calrissian identified the informant's starship, the Widowmaker, piloted by the Dug named Sebulba. The race announcer summoned all competitors to the starting line and initiated the countdown. With the signal given, the race commenced, and the ships immediately began exchanging fire.
Dogfighting action surrounded Calrissian as he pursued Sebulba. Suddenly, an Imperial Star Destroyer materialized, halting the ongoing battle. The Imperial officer commanding the Star Destroyer demanded the racers' surrender and their allegiance to the Galactic Empire.
Calrissian, unwilling to comply, devised a strategy to counter the Empire's presence. He contacted the other racers, identifying himself as the leader of Gold Squadron. He successfully rallied the racers to his cause, urging them to confront the approaching Imperial forces. United, they advanced toward the incoming TIE fighters.
The racers engaged the TIE fighters around the Star Destroyer, with Calrissian issuing commands. They successfully destroyed the shield generator, forcing the Imperials into a full retreat. While the racers celebrated their victory, Calrissian announced his knowledge that one of them possessed information he needed. Realizing he was the target, Sebulba attempted to flee but was intercepted by the Falcon. Sebulba expressed his frustration at being captured, while Calrissian celebrated the success of his plan.
"A Race for Answers" depicts the Millennium Falcon equipped with its rectenna, which was destroyed during the Battle of Endor. However, the comic is set after the Battle of Endor, referencing the defeat of the Galactic Empire.
