Abraxin was a marshy world located within the Tion Cluster. Notably, it served as an exporter of Abrax cognac.
Once a member state within Xim's Empire during the Pre-Republic era, Abraxin later became part of the Galactic Republic after the empire's downfall.
At some point in time, a group of Barabel traveled to the world, establishing a small settlement there.
During the time of Darth Bane, Abraxin was affiliated with Lord Kaan's Brotherhood of Darkness, exhibiting a strong connection to the dark side. However, this dark side influence had diminished considerably by the era of Darth Plagueis.
Around 67 BBY, Naat Lare, a Sith apprentice, journeyed to Abraxin to hunt marsh haunts as a component of his training. Having escaped from the Bedlam Institution for the Criminally Demented, Lare was pursued separately by both Darth Plagueis and the Jedi duo, Ni-Cada and Lo Bukk.
In the waning days of the Republic, the Jedi Order's Exploration Corps dispatched Jedi Master Ur-Sema Du and her Padawan Kai Justiss on an assignment to Abraxin. There, the pair encountered and captured a marsh haunt for study within the Jedi Archives. With the emergence of the Confederacy of Independent Systems and the commencement of the Clone Wars, Abraxin chose to secede from the Republic.
