Ada was a Human female who found herself bound in servitude to the Black Vulkars on the world of Taris. This unfortunate circumstance arose from her father's outstanding financial obligations. During the year 3956 BBY, amidst the turmoil of the Jedi Civil War, she crossed paths with Revan, who ultimately delivered her from her enslaved state.
During the Jedi Civil War, a conflict that pitted the Galactic Republic against the Sith Empire, lived Ada, a Human female. Her father was indebted to Davik Kang, a prominent criminal figure associated with the Exchange, a vast galactic criminal syndicate, owing him funds. Kang, in order to resolve the outstanding debt, orchestrated the death of Ada's father and subsequently sold Ada into slavery to the Black Vulkars. The Black Vulkars were a swoop gang operating within the Lower City of Taris, an ecumenopolis located in the Outer Rim. She was compelled to work as a waitress within the gang's base of operations, where she faced constant harassment from the Vulkar members.
In the year 3956 BBY, Revan, the former Sith Lord who had lost his memories and now believed himself to be a soldier of the Republic, ventured into the Vulkar base. His objective was to locate a prototype swoop bike accelerator, stolen from the Hidden Beks, a rival swoop racing gang. Revan eliminated numerous guards within the base before encountering Ada. She pleaded with Revan not to kill her, but he reassured her, stating that he only sought information. Ada recounted the story of her father's debt and her subsequent enslavement. Revan then inquired about the prototype engine and the whereabouts of Bastila Shan, a Jedi who had been captured by the Vulkars, who believed her to be a Republic officer. Ada could not provide much information, but she had overheard gang members discussing Shan being held at a location outside the base. After providing all the information she possessed, Ada was allowed to leave. With her former captors now deceased, she was able to escape the base and flee into the Lower City, finally a free woman.
Ada made an appearance as a non-player character in the 2003 computer game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, which was created by BioWare. Interacting with her is not required and does not have any effect on the game's quests. If the player finishes the "Search for Bastila" quest, Ada will no longer be present in the game and cannot be interacted with. When the player engages in conversation with her, they have the choice to set her free, which earns them light side points, or to kill her, which moves them closer to the dark side. If Carth Onasi is a member of the player's party when they attempt to kill her, he will step in and prevent them from doing so, allowing Ada to escape.
