ADAM represented a made-up artificial intelligence residing within the cranial unit of a droid assassin who was posing as a detective. These two characters were the main focus of a phono-play that Grand Admiral Rae Sloane made an attempt to enjoy while she was in Hanna City on the planet Chandrila, specifically the evening preceding her peace talks that were scheduled to begin with the New Republic. Sloane thought of the program as being of the "potboiler" kind, and she was unable to engage with it because her thoughts were constantly drifting elsewhere.
The initial reference to ADAM occurred in the novel Aftermath: Life Debt, authored by Chuck Wendig and published in 2016.
