The Andor family's residence, known as the Andor household, was located on the planet of Ferrix; it was the home of the Andor family. By the year 18 BBY, Clem Andor, Maarva Andor, along with their adopted son Cassian Andor, lived there. By 5 BBY, Maarva, Cassian, and their droid B2EMO still resided there. After Cassian became a target of the Preox-Morlana authorities, officers, led by Syril Karn, invaded the home, thoroughly searching Cassian's room, and detaining both Maarva and B2EMO for a period of time.
The initial glimpse of the Andor household was provided in the teaser trailer for the television series Andor, which was released to the public on May 26, 2022. Its first full appearance occurred in "That Would Be Me," the show's second episode, which was broadcast on September 21, 2022. The household's identity was first revealed during an episode of This Week! in Star Wars.[4]
Luke Hull, the production designer, produced an initial drawing of Cassian Andor, Maarva Andor, and B2EMO within the confines of the dwelling. Both the interior and exterior of the household were part of the same physical set, giving it a complete three-dimensional quality. The household's design was meticulously planned to provide insight into Maarva's character, particularly emphasizing how her life had become intertwined with her chair. Hull dedicated effort to the chair's design, B2EMO's charging station, and the hydroponic system located in the window. The household was intentionally designed to appear as if it had been constructed from salvaged components of old starships. According to executive producer Tony Gilroy, the Ferrix scenes were the first to be filmed. An argument between Cassian and Maarva, portrayed by actors Diego Luna and Fiona Shaw respectively, within the house, was among the earliest scenes captured.
