The grenade known as the AP-M1 armor piercing grenade was a product of Merr-Sonn Munitions, Inc.. Its purpose was to equip standard soldiers with a means of lightly combating armor; it achieved this by creating a concentrated explosion capable of breaching even heavily armored targets. This grenade, priced at two hundred credits, was about the size of a human fist and comprised a compact shaped charge core contained within a plasteel shell.
In terms of deployment, it could be hurled like a typical grenade, or affixed to a surface using its built-in chemical adhesive. This feature made it ideal for precise demolition tasks, as well as anti-vehicle and anti-armor roles. Clone troopers serving in the Grand Army of the Republic frequently utilized these grenades during the Clone Wars conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems.
The AP-M1 armor piercing grenade appeared in Rise of the Separatists, a 2019 expansion for Fantasy Flight Games' Star Wars Roleplaying game line.
