Archaeology

The Recovery EtU A holocron is found by an archaeologist

Archaeology involved the study of past civilizations by examining their ancient cultures and the items they left behind. As a wide-ranging science, it incorporated aspects of both anthropology and geology, and also encompassed xenoarchaeology along with bioarchaeology.

Within the Jedi historian ranks, there existed Jedi archaeologists who conducted fieldwork. Before becoming a librarian at the Jedi Archives, Jocasta Nu practiced xenoarchaeology. Additional Jedi archaeologists included Corask Slen'da, Tyneir Renz, and Jerec, who was Nu's apprentice. Similarly, some Sith were archaeology experts, such as Veren Gal. Those amateur archaeologists driven by personal profit were commonly referred to as treasure hunters. Suz Tanwa and Aach Een are two examples of notable treasure hunters. Furthermore, both the Obroan Institute for Archaeology and the University of Agamar featured archaeology programs.

The Imperial Reclamation Service of the reconstituted Sith Empire participated in archaeological endeavors, as did the Imperial Archaeological Division of the Galactic Empire.

An archaeological museum was located on the world of Kinzor. Doctor Indiana Jones, hailing from his homeworld, was a highly skilled archaeologist.

Bioarchaeology

Bioarchaeology, which is a less well-known branch of archaeology than xenoarchaeology, focused on the detailed analysis of skeletal remains that have been excavated.

A prominent bioarchaeologist was Josala Krenn.

Behind the scenes
