Torphceris, the final Argazdan Regent, found his control of the Redoubt imperiled circa 3670 BBY by both the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic led by the Lorrdian Jedi Master Mari-Elan Nora. In a desperate move, he compromised his devotion to Vianism by forging an agreement with a diabolical alien "artisan-shaper." This alien, originating from the Intergalactic Void and having arrived in the known Galaxy, demonstrated considerable skill in the field of bioengineering. Torphceris exploited the alien's capabilities to engineer a bio-monster, which he then concealed under the famed Slave Pits of Lorrd. The construction of these Slave Pits resulted in the deaths of countless Lorrdian slaves.
