This Shaper from the Yuuzhan Vong species, an unidentifed female, surfaced in the distant regions of the Argazdan Redoubt during the era of the Kanz Disorders, a few decades before 3970 BBY.
After the devastating events of the Cremlevian War, the Yuuzhan Vong were compelled to abandon their now-uninhabitable galaxy. They then embarked on a journey into the Intergalactic Void situated between the galaxies. Seeking a new world to call home, the Yuuzhan Vong dispatched scouting parties into the known galaxy around the time of the Old Sith Wars. This particular female Shaper was engaged in testing an experimental hyperdrive counterpart, designed to enable the Koros-Strohna ships of the Yuuzhan Vong to traverse space at faster-than-light speeds.
However, the experimental drive of her starship's malfunctioned, which resulted in her and her vessel being trapped in stasis and lost within the remote expanses of the Kanz sector for countless centuries. During the final decades of the Kanz Disorders, patrols from the Argazdan Redoubt came across her and her starship, which resembled an asteroid. Argazdan scientists managed to revive the pilot, who had been preserved in stasis.
While held in captivity, she disclosed her origins and her expertise in "shaping" to her Argazdan captors. Eventually, she became proficient in Argazdan, despite her captors' inability to comprehend her native tongue. They found the extra-galactic nature of her origins to be incredibly fascinating. Reflecting the Yuuzhan Vong's aversion to droids and technology, she refused to utilize any form of mechanical technology.
Around 3670 BBY, the reign of Torphceris, the ruling Argazdan Regent, over the Redoubt was threatened by the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic under the command of the Lorrdian Jedi Master Mari-Elan Nora. Driven by desperation, he compromised his "beliefs" in Vianism by forging an alliance with the female Shaper. Due to the grotesque scars and tattoos that marked her, she became known as the "demon" within Argazdan and Lorrdian circles.
Under her guidance, Torphceris commanded the construction of enormous pits on Lorrd, employing Lorrdian slave labor. At the alien's insistence, the pits were constructed entirely by hand, without the use of any technological tools, leading to the deaths of thousands of Lorrdian slaves. At the bottom of the pit, she created an amphibious "living superweapon capable of living for millennia". During the Liberation of Lorrd, numerous Argazdans sought refuge in the chambers within the slave pit and vanished, presumably consumed by the monster. Several Jedi and Republic soldiers dispatched to apprehend them also disappeared. Master Nora sensed a malevolent presence within the Pits, prompting her to order their filling and the suppression of their existence in official records. Following this incident, the female Shaper vanished.
Pordi zet Chatc, a Lorrdian playwright, depicted her role in the construction of the Slave Pits in his play, Torphceris. In this play, she was portrayed as a villain, while her Argazdan collaborators were depicted as cowardly individuals willing to abandon their beliefs in exchange for power. During the Galactic Civil War, Tash Arranda and her Lorrdian companion Kal zet Berri learned of her existence while attending a play at the Performance Square.
Subsequently, they ventured to the Slave Pits, where they encountered the unscrupulous Doctor Raygar and the Imperial Agent Diamond, who were interested in the "living superweapon". During a brief confrontation at the bottom of the Pits, the belligerents encountered the monster which attempted to kill them. However, Raygar dispatched the beast with a thermal detonator, enabling his foes to escape and also destroying any potential superweapon the Galactic Empire could have used against the Rebel Alliance.
