Torphceris

Torphceris held the position of the final Regent of the Argazdan Argazdan Redoubt. This occurred during the concluding years of the Kanz Disorders, a period that preceded the Redoubt's fall in 3670 BBY.

Biography

Around the time of 3670 BBY, Torphceris faced increasing pressure on his control of the Argazdan Redoubt from both the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic, led by the Lorrdian Jedi Master Mari-Elan Nora. In a desperate act, he compromised his adherence to Vianism by forging an agreement with a alien "artisan-shaper" of demonic nature.

This alien had journeyed to the known galaxy from the Intergalactic Void and demonstrated significant skill in the field of bioengineering. Torphceris then exploited the alien's abilities to engineer a biological monstrosity, which he then concealed beneath the Slave Pits of Lorrd. The creation of these pits resulted in the deaths of thousands of Lorrdian slaves.

Following the Redoubt's defeat, his ultimate fate remains unclear; he may have perished in the conflict or been captured and subjected to trial by the Republic. In the later period of the Republic, a play bearing his name was written by the Lorrdian playwright Pordi zet Chatc, focusing on his involvement in the construction of the Slave Pits. However, the play did not depict him as an outright villain, but rather as a weak individual willing to abandon his principles for the sake of gaining power.
