Arik Stijhl, a male Human, served the Republic Navy before becoming a Field Commander within the Rebel Alliance.
Stijhl's career began in the Old Republic Navy, though he never engaged in combat. He gained recognition for his exceptional ability to efficiently procure necessary supplies for various groups. Consequently, Alliance High Command assigned him to the Ordnance and Supply division in the Inner Rim. While serving as quartermaster at a training facility, he encountered T'Charek Haathi, whose frequent interference with his plans and schedules caused him considerable frustration.
Stijhl held the position of commanding officer at Drop Point: Gelgelar. During one of his shifts, his communications officer, Kovings, informed him that The Maker a light freighter, had requested permission to land. In a sarcastic tone, he suggested that they should have destroyed the freighter. Upon the ship's arrival, he boarded it and encountered Major T'Charek Haathi, the freighter's commanding officer. He was also introduced to Captain Ivhin Jayme and Dren Nord. Stijhl questioned Haathi regarding her purpose in visiting his base. She explained that she required certain supplies and had her aide, Maglenna Pendower, provide him with an inventory. A power failure occurred on the freighter, resulting in injuries to Morgan Q. Raventhorn. After Pendower treated the injured tech and evacuated him to the base's medical suite, Stijhl returned and offered Haathi the assistance of Sergeant Nofre Ecls to repair The Maker, cautioning the tech against bypassing established safety measures. A disturbance erupted outside the freighter, prompting Stijhl to investigate. Upon exiting the ship, he witnessed the conflict between Rebel security forces and the Doom Slayer assassin droid. He instructed his personnel to seek cover and began to urge Nord to evacuate everyone from The Maker, but he was struck by blaster fire and lost consciousness. Nord carried him aboard the freighter. Stijhl and the remaining survivors managed to evacuate the drop point and escape to a Rebel medical frigate before the assassin droid detonated, destroying the warehouse.
Following his recovery, he met with Haathi and her team to receive a debriefing on the events. Raventhorn explained that they had stolen the freighter from the rogue droid manufacturer Sythluss Leethe and had inadvertently activated the Doom Slayer. Stijhl insisted that Haathi's team replace all the materials destroyed in the warehouse. She consented, but requested that Pendower replace Nord as the team's medic. Exasperated, Stijhl agreed to her terms.
