T'Charek Haathi was a female Wroonian who fought for the Alliance to Restore the Republic. She served as both a pilot of starfighters and the leader of a Special Operations team. Haathi was born on the planet of Wroona, and she had a strong dislike for boredom and a desire for excitement. She initially served in the Wroonian defense force, but the strictness of military life caused Haathi and her unit to rebel and begin attacking Imperial vessels. After the Empire retaliated and destroyed the squadron, Haathi joined the Alliance shortly after the Battle of Yavin. She was accompanied by two Humans she had met on the planet Rodaj: Ivhin Jayme, a former Imperial soldier, and Morgan Q. Raventhorn, a technical expert. Haathi's time in the Alliance's Starfighter Corps mirrored her experiences with the Wroonians, despite her reputation as one of the Alliance's best pilots.
Because of her issues with discipline and authority, Haathi's superiors reassigned her to Special Operations. This allowed her to use her skills in a less regulated atmosphere. Haathi brought Jayme and Raventhorn into her new team, where they specialized in stealing starships. The team was very successful, and Haathi found her niche in the Alliance. Joined by Dren Nord, a Human medic, the team stole a YT-1300 light freighter named The Maker from a spaceport on Zelos II. When they took the ship to an Alliance drop point on Gelgelar, they had to fight the Doom Slayer. This experimental assassin droid had been created and kept on board by the ship's previous owner, the Sluissi Sythluss Leethe. Although they defeated the Doom Slayer, it activated a self-destruct mechanism. The team barely escaped the drop point in The Maker before it was destroyed, but they managed to evacuate most of the base personnel.
Born on the planet Wroona in the Inner Rim, T'Charek Haathi was a female of the Wroonian species. In her younger years, Haathi assisted her grandmother, who operated a successful shipping business on Wroona. Haathi detested predictability and stability, constantly seeking excitement and adventure, and found her work incredibly dull. She applied to the Imperial Academy hoping to find some excitement, despite knowing she would face prejudice for being both female and non-Human. Although her application was rejected, she was recruited by the Wroonian defense force at the age of eighteen. One year later, Haathi became a qualified starfighter pilot within a squadron. However, the structured military life did not suit Haathi, as her duties mainly involved patrolling Wroona. Eventually, her squadron went rogue and began attacking Imperial corporate ships. These daring attacks attracted the attention of the Imperial Navy, which retaliated against Haathi's unit. The squadron was decimated, but Haathi survived and reached the planet Rodaj in the Inner Rim. There, she worked as a miner and befriended two Humans: Ivhin Jayme, a former Imperial soldier, and Morgan Q. Raventhorn, a former scout and technician. Dissatisfied with her situation, Haathi and Jayme decided to join the Rebellion, convincing Raventhorn to join them.

Haathi and her companions joined the Rebel Alliance shortly after the Battle of Yavin in 0 BBY. She was assigned to the Alliance Starfighter Corps, piloting a BTL Y-wing starfighter. Despite her experience and skill making her one of the Alliance's best pilots, her carefree attitude towards regulations and her impulsiveness annoyed her superior officers. Following the Battle of Yavin, the Alliance was in retreat, hiding from Imperial forces and regrouping. Haathi found this situation boring and added excitement to her duties by randomly sabotaging her Y-wing's systems to test her flying abilities, yelling "Eject!" over open comm channels to see who would activate their ejection seat, and constantly calling her commanding officer "Admiral Nerf" to provoke him. Haathi received several suspensions from flight duty, which only increased her boredom and annoyance to others. Eventually, her commanding officer chose to ignore her completely rather than punish her.
At some point, Haathi became a flight instructor and was stationed at a training base. There, she clashed with the local Human quartermaster, Arik Stijhl. Stijhl, a veteran logistics officer, was strict about regulations and timetables, while Haathi was the opposite. Her training sessions often involved unauthorized requisition of supplies, which Stijhl saw as undermining his authority as the base's supply officer. Eventually, her superiors decided to transfer her to Special Operations. They viewed it as a win-win situation—the Rebellion would retain Haathi's skills, and the Starfighter Corps would be rid of her. Haathi agreed to the reassignment.
As commander of a Special Ops team, Haathi immediately recruited her former colleagues Ivhin Jayme and Morgan Raventhorn, along with a medic. Haathi's team operated from an Alliance base on the planet Derricon, in the Spirva sector of the Mid Rim, and specialized in shipjacking. Although accountable to the base commander on Derricon, Haathi and her team had free rein off-base. Her actions earned her a promotion from Captain to Major. Over six months, Haathi either fired or lost eight medics until she was assigned Dren Nord, a Human former surgeon with the Alliance Fleet, despite her objections. Haathi was assured that Nord had field experience, but she remained doubtful.

Seeking starships for the Alliance, Haathi took her team to Zelos II, a planet in the Tyus sector of the Mid Rim. Targeting a spaceport, the team stole technician uniforms and obtained remodeling plans that detailed the security systems. Haathi's plan involved infiltrating the spaceport at night, exploiting the native Zelosians' fear of the dark. She believed the guards would be more focused on the darkness and the end of their shift than on guarding the spaceport. Using the stolen uniforms and forged work orders, they fooled Humanoid and droid personnel and infiltrated the base, where Haathi assessed potential targets. Among hundreds of ships, dozens of YT-1300 light freighters, which were a priority for the Alliance, were docked at the spaceport. At least two were lightly guarded, while a third was beneath a guard tower, in view of several security cameras, and surrounded by a forcefield cube, a mesh-link power fence, and a blast wall. Haathi, drawn to the challenge and excitement, chose the most heavily guarded ship.
Haathi led Jayme and Nord to a maintenance tower overlooking the freighter, while Raventhorn climbed a lighting tower to splice into the spaceport's systems. Her task was to rewire the security camera covering the vessel to display a computer-generated video of the light freighter's docking bay undisturbed, masking the team's approach. Haathi and Nord monitored the spaceport's security patrols to ensure Raventhorn's cover wasn't blown. Meanwhile, Jayme rewired the backup security computers in the maintenance tower to give the team complete control. From their hiding spot, Nord questioned Haathi's decision to target the most heavily guarded ship. Her response—that any other ship would be boring—did not convince him.
Raventhorn completed her task and began playing the fake video on the security monitors. With the cameras disabled, Haathi ordered Jayme to the docking bay while Raventhorn attached a Scomp-Spiker to the security systems. When Jayme signaled he was in position, Raventhorn triggered the device, sending a power surge through the main security computer, temporarily disabling the forcefield cube and power fence. The spaceport's systems switched to the backup computer rigged by Jayme, which kept the security systems offline briefly before the auxiliary power reactivated the forcefield and power fence. Jayme pole-vaulted the fence and wall, landing just as the power returned. Inside the docking bay, Jayme relayed the ship's identification numbers to Haathi, who identified it as The Maker, owned by a Sluissi named Sythluss Leethe.

Using a VoiceBox, Jayme deactivated the security systems from inside, allowing Haathi and the rest of the team to enter. Briefly admiring the ship, Haathi ordered Raventhorn to disable the freighter's security systems while Jayme and Nord watched the security patrols. Soon, Raventhorn announced that the security systems would be disabled once she disconnected the stun steps. Haathi, eager to take the ship, only heard that the defenses were down and rushed up the entry ramp. The freighter's stun steps activated as she stepped on the ramp, generating an electromagnetic neuro-shock field that knocked her unconscious and sent her flying backwards. Haathi landed in the open, and Jayme ordered Raventhorn to get her under cover. Nord, meanwhile, left cover to check on Haathi and was spotted by a security guard on the catwalks above. A ladder was lowered, and the security guards descended, firing on the Special Ops team.
Haathi regained consciousness under The Maker, protected by the entry ramp. She couldn't feel her legs, and Raventhorn told her to stay put before disappearing. As feeling returned to her legs, Haathi surveyed the situation. The guards were exchanging laser fire with her team, who were behind cargo crates. None of her team had been injured, even though the guards' blasters were set to kill while her team used stun blasts. Haathi wondered if taking The Maker was worth it, but she refused to dwell on it and resolved to take her prize. She ordered her team to fall back to the ship. Suddenly, Nord, having set his weapon to kill, hit one of the security guards. Haathi immediately ordered him to switch back to stun, but he refused unless she could get them out of trouble. Haathi ordered Jayme to stun him; when the commando began to comply, Nord ducked into cover and followed orders.
The number of guards in the docking bay began to decrease as several retreated to the upper level, where they had a better position. Haathi ordered Raventhorn to finish disabling the stun steps so they could board the ship and escape. As Raventhorn worked, a security guard opened fire on her. The technician was blocking Haathi's line of sight, preventing her from neutralizing him. Haathi feared the worst until Raventhorn hit the guard with two cables attached to the stun steps, stunning him with an electromagnetic neuro-shock field. Seeing this, Haathi ordered Raventhorn to use the cables to charge the metal ladder rungs, sending the stun blast through the metal catwalk and stunning the remaining guards.
As the team retreated to The Maker, Jayme helped Haathi to her feet and into the ship. Heading for the cockpit, they found a sealed hatch. Haathi groaned, Raventhorn began to find a way past it, and Jayme attached detonite tape to the door, detonating it with a blaster shot. The explosion disengaged the hatch's locking mechanism, allowing Haathi into the cockpit. She dropped into the pilot's seat, rerouted all power to the engines, and launched the freighter as security reinforcements fired at the departing ship.

Haathi flew The Maker to an Alliance drop point on the planet Gelgelar, in the Elrood sector of the Outer Rim Territories. The drop point was commanded by Arik Stijhl, and Haathi's main reason for stopping was to show off her new ship and promotion to Major. Stijhl reluctantly welcomed Haathi, Jayme, and Nord to Gelgelar, where Haathi was disappointed to learn that Stijhl was now a Colonel. Haathi claimed to need supplies to mask her true reason for visiting; Stijhl summoned his Human administrative aide, Maglenna Pendower, to take their requisition needs. Raventhorn, working on the freighter's power grid, commed Haathi to inform her of something. Just as she was about to, static erupted from the comm, and the ship lost power. As the emergency lighting came on, Pendower headed to the maintenance bay where Raventhorn was working. Haathi ordered Jayme to follow Pendower, then left the ship to find Nord, who had exited after meeting Stijhl.
After finding Nord, Haathi returned to The Maker to find that Pendower had revived Raventhorn, who had been electrified by a surge from the power grid. Pendower believed it was an accident, but Jayme disagreed. While Pendower helped Nord take Raventhorn to the drop point's medical bay, Jayme followed his hunch that Raventhorn's mishap was not accidental. Haathi attempted to repair The Maker's power grid. Unable to understand Raventhorn's notes, Haathi was relieved when Stijhl offered assistance in the form of Sergeant Nofre Ecls, a Sullustan engineer. While Stijhl left to investigate a commotion, Haathi and Ecls began working on the power grid. Ecls believed she needed to rewire the entire grid, a job that would take several days. Haathi suggested hot-wiring the ship, but Ecls advised against it, saying a single power surge would destroy the freighter. The Major ordered the Sullustan engineer to rewire the power grid.

Outside the vessel The Maker, a deactivated experimental assassin droid, known as the Doom Slayer, was brought online. Its creator, Sythluss Leethe, had secretly placed it aboard The Maker, and its prime directive was to eliminate all organic entities within the immediate vicinity. Jayme's suspicion regarding Raventhorn's incident being more than an accident proved accurate, leading him to track and engage the droid alongside the security forces at the landing site. The droid secured the hangar doors and disrupted communication channels. Stijhl gave the order to evacuate the base, instructing everyone to board The Maker for escape. Haathi and Ecls successfully restored the ship's power, and the wounded began to fill the freighter. Haathi located a pilot, instructing them to enter the cockpit and launch as soon as the engines were operational. Haathi then positioned herself at the boarding ramp, enduring the harsh fumes while awaiting her team's arrival. Nord soon emerged, assisting an injured Stijhl. Haathi aided in getting the Colonel aboard, asking if Nord had seen the others, but he hadn't. Just as the ship's repulsorlifts activated, Haathi spotted Jayme, Raventhorn, and Pendower, each supporting one another as they hurried towards the ship. Haathi assisted the trio in boarding as The Maker took flight. Jayme had managed to subdue the Doom Slayer, but the assassin droid was equipped with a self-destruct mechanism. The Maker crashed through the closed hangar doors, accelerating away from the landing site just as the bomb detonated, obliterating the base.
While aboard a medical frigate, Haathi and her team discovered the origins of the assassin droid. Subsequently, Stijhl scolded them for the loss of the supplies at the landing site, which included six industrial-grade power generators, six hundred medical field packs, eighty-two perimeter sensors, eight B1-series worker droids, and two hundred blaster packs. He then announced that they would embark on a retrieval mission to compensate for the losses. Haathi agreed, but only if Pendower—who had impressed her by aiding Raventhorn and assisting Jayme—replaced Nord on her team, as Nord had failed to meet her expectations. Stijhl approved the transfer and permitted the team to depart.
T'Charek Haathi possessed a laid-back and witty demeanor, finding pleasure in amusement and risk-taking. Easily becoming restless, she detested the mundane and predictable, always seeking opportunities that would both challenge and stimulate her. Her personality reflected that of a typical, high-spirited, and carefree Wroonian, constantly in search of new challenges. Standing at a height comparable to an average Human female, Haathi was considered somewhat short for her species. Her enthusiastic and impulsive nature manifested in a flippant attitude that often irritated others. Authority figures were a source of conflict for Haathi, yet she possessed natural leadership qualities. However, she lacked ambition for power and disliked exercising rank unless absolutely necessary, primarily because she feared transforming into the type of authority figure she had always resisted. As a skilled tactician and strategist, Haathi welcomed input from her team during mission planning. She placed unwavering trust in two of her teammates—Ivhin Jayme and Morgan Raventhorn—and initially made a deliberate effort to give Dren Nord the benefit of the doubt upon his arrival, but when he fell short of her standards, she promptly sought a replacement. Despite her confidence in her friends' abilities, she harbored concerns for their well-being, prioritizing it above the needs of the Rebel Alliance, as demonstrated when Raventhorn required medical attention beyond what the landing site could offer. Haathi hesitated to resort to lethal force unless absolutely necessary, refusing to authorize her team to kill the guards at the Zelos II spaceport even though they were using lethal force instead of stun blasts. She became enraged when Nord disobeyed her orders and used his blaster's kill setting, leading her to instruct Jayme to stun him to prevent further harm.
Haathi was a proficient pilot, specializing in flying Y-wing starfighters and capable of repairing them when needed. She was trained to operate space transports and effectively utilize their weapon, shield, and sensor systems. Her skills extended to repairing ships and their weapons, including capital ships. Haathi possessed the ability to navigate through hyperspace and possessed extensive knowledge of locations within the Inner Rim. She had business acumen and an interest in alien languages and planetary systems. Her background as a Special Operations operative naturally lent itself to undercover work, allowing her to effectively intimidate, persuade, or deceive individuals to extract information or acquire resources. She could leverage her talents to research and investigate potential targets, devising the optimal approach to obtain what she needed.
As a skilled ship jacker, Haathi excelled at assessing the value of starships and possessed a working knowledge of law enforcement procedures and security systems. She typically carried two weapons: a blaster pistol and a heavy blaster pistol, which she knew how to use effectively. She could repair her weapons and was proficient in operating vehicle-mounted blasters. She also received training in unarmed combat. In addition to her weapons, Haathi usually carried a comlink and several fake identification chips.
T'Charek Haathi's debut was in Special Ops: Ship Jackers, featured in issue 13 of West End Games' Star Wars Adventure Journal, which served as the first installment in a series of articles detailing the Alliance Special Operations. Haathi's adventures were intended to continue in Special Ops: The Art of Infiltration, scheduled for publication in issue 17, but the Adventure Journal was discontinued before the issue could be released. Both installments were authored by John Beyer and Kathy Burdette.
Following the Gelgelar incident, Haathi and her team remained under medical observation on the frigate for a week. During this time, Haathi primarily focused on worrying about Jayme and Pendower's injuries and ensuring that Raventhorn did not experience another cardiac arrest. Haathi herself required six hours on a ventilator to recover from inhaling excessive amounts of toxic smoke.
Two weeks later, Haathi and her team traveled to the planet Laertos. An Imperial supply depot was under construction there, and Haathi had formulated a plan to infiltrate the base and steal a super freighter filled with supplies. Intelligence from General Crix Madine indicated that the base's security consisted of a two-meter mesh fence, two guards, and approximately one hundred construction workers. Upon arrival, they discovered that the base was undergoing a significant upgrade to become a full garrison, protected by a fully-charged mesh-link fence, a minefield, and heavy laser turrets with an unobstructed field of vision. Undeterred, Haathi, Raventhorn, and Pendower disguised themselves as picnicking locals in the woods surrounding the base. They distracted a five-man patrol, allowing Jayme to incapacitate all five using a Tranq 25 HV Pistol modified for use as a carbine. After taking the troopers' uniforms and equipment, the team stole the patrol's patrol speeder and infiltrated the facility. This required Haathi to use green camouflage field paint to conceal her blue skin.
With Pendower posing as a major, the team proceeded to the administration building. During the infiltration, Haathi altered the plan. Instead of hijacking a super freighter, she had Pendower change the routing orders for future shipments of high-value material and equipment to be delivered to small, remote Imperial bases near Alliance outposts, which could then be raided with minimal resistance. To cover their tracks, Haathi instructed Jayme and Raventhorn to detonate the obvious parts of the base that an inexperienced terrorist would target. However, both teams were discovered by Imperial security forces under the command of Captain Edmond Mylesgood, who had been alerted to a potential unauthorized presence on the base when the patrol that Haathi's team had impersonated failed to follow proper procedure and check in. A firefight ensued, but the team managed to extract themselves from danger and escape the base.
