AT-ST drivers, who can also be referred to as AT-ST pilots, were combat drivers within the Imperial Army who specialized in the operation of the All Terrain Scout Transport.

AT-ST pilots were outfitted in light grey one-piece jumpsuits that had basic armor plating worn underneath, in addition to Imperial crests displayed on both shoulders. Black boots that extended to the mid-calf protected the drivers' feet, while their hands were covered by black fire-resistant gauntlets. The jumpsuit included a belt constructed from a black, leather-like substance, and it featured a metallic buckle that bore an identity disk.
The open-face helmet worn by AT-ST pilots was field grey and comprised a dome with a rim and a helmet skirt. Identity disks were placed on either side of the skirt, and a telemetry receiver unit was affixed to the dome's right side, aligned with the rim. The edge of the skirt and the dome's forehead were covered by a black trim. A black chin strap was used to secure the helmet. Eyes were shielded by blast goggles, which featured a square-like frame with angled sides and dark lenses.
Even though they were not intended to be replacements for standard infantry, AT-ST drivers were equipped with blasters, grenades, thermal detonators, emergency flares, and a comlink for use in emergency situations.
