An Imperial base situated on the world of Tao suffered an attack no earlier than seven years after the beginning of the Imperial Era. This planet, Tao, found in the Outer Rim Territories and abundant in resources but lacking advancement, submitted to Imperial authority in return for developmental aid. However, Imperial oppression led to growing dissatisfaction among the people of Tao. Consequently, a segment of the native population launched an assault on the Imperial installation located within a town there.
