Yasaburō

Yasaburō was a male human attuned to the Force. During the Imperial Era, he resided on Tao and spearheaded a potent organization. Ochō was his daughter. Ochō became friends with Lop, a Lepi slave who had run away, and she persuaded Yasaburō to welcome Lop into their family.

Yasaburō spearheaded a rebellion on Tao to fight against the Galactic Empire's subjugation of his homeworld. Conversely, his daughter chose to align herself with the Empire.

Personality and traits

Yasaburō possessed a profound sense of honor. This is evidenced by his decision to adopt Lop into his family after Ochō played with her on the beach.

Powers and abilities

Prior to adopting Lop, Yasaburō sustained an injury that resulted in the loss of function in his left eye. Later in life, his daughter, Ochō, would blind him in his right eye.

Yasaburō harnessed the Force during a family ritual. In this ritual, he bestowed the Yasaburō family heirloom lightsaber upon Lop as an inheritance.

Behind the scenes

The original Japanese name for Yasaburō is 弥三郎 (Yasaburō). He was a character in "Lop & Ochō," a short film from the Star Wars: Visions anthology, penned by Sayawaka and directed by Yuki Igarashi. Geno Studio produced the short, which premiered on Disney+ on September 22, 2021.
