Attatag Gosem was a Gotal who achieved victory in the Big Game, a gladiatorial contest held on The Wheel space station, for three years running around 130 ABY. Following the competition's termination due to a change in The Wheel's ownership, he transitioned to a life of crime, operating as both a spy and a information broker. There were whispers that he collaborated with the One Sith. Around 138 ABY, Gosem took over as the new administrator of The Wheel after the previous one, Pol Temm, vanished, and he brought back the Big Game. His leadership was marked by a lack of rule enforcement, leading to the station's deterioration into a dilapidated and rusty state.
Living circa 130 ABY, Attatag Gosem was a Gotal. For three consecutive years, he triumphed in the Big Game—a savage gladiatorial spectacle hosted on The Wheel, a well-known space station within the Besh Gorgon system. However, around 130 ABY, ownership of the station shifted, with Pol Temm becoming the new administrator, and the Big Game was subsequently cancelled. Gosem then embraced a criminal lifestyle, gaining notoriety as a spy and information broker. He was rumored to have associations with the One Sith.
Approximately around 138 ABY, Temm disappeared after attempting to enforce his "no weapons" policy utilizing a Defender-class Star Destroyer against a group of Mandalorian Supremacists. Following this, Gosem assumed his position, becoming the twelfth administrator of The Wheel. His suspected Sith connections aroused suspicion regarding his return; however, his reinstatement of the Big Game was met with widespread approval. Gosem largely ceased enforcing regulations on The Wheel, and as a result, the station devolved into a run-down condition characterized by squalor and rust.
Attatag Gosem, a powerfully built individual, secured victory in the Big Game for three straight years. His reappearance on The Wheel sparked both skepticism and acclaim, stemming from rumors of his allegiance to the Sith and his revival of the Big Game, respectively. Gosem was known to carry a blaster pistol, don dark armor, and wear a microphone headset.
John Ostrander and Jan Duursema conceived Attatag Gosem for the comic series Star Wars: Legacy. A drawing by Dan Parsons along with a brief informational piece about him were featured in the June 2006 reference book Star Wars: Legacy (2006) 0, which served as an introduction to many key characters and elements of the series. While everything else presented in Legacy 0 eventually played a role in the series, Gosem never made an appearance in any of the fifty issues of Legacy. Ostrander later revealed that he and Duursema had envisioned storylines for the character, but ultimately found no space for them within the existing narratives, which already featured Legacy's extensive cast. Gosem received his first mention in the third issue of Legacy's sequel miniseries, Star Wars: Legacy—War, and was profiled in the 2013 StarWars.com blog post "Viva Space Vegas! The History of the Marvelous Wheel, Part 2," authored by Abel G. Peña and Rich Handley.
