Atterra campaign

The Atterra campaign, also known as the Atterra crisis, or alternatively called the mission to the Atterra system, signifies an operation executed by the Resistance with the purpose of transporting essential supplies to the Atterrans residing within the Atterra system.

Prelude

Resistance base

In the year 34 ABY, the Resistance's bomber squadron, known as Hammer, embarked on a reconnaissance assignment targeting the binary planets of Atterra Bravo and Atterra Alpha. They deployed a total of 500 probe droids onto the surface of Bravo. During this operation, they detected automated cannon fire originating from the asteroids situated in the Atterra Belt, along with the presence of mines and a blockade. A solitary vessel managed to penetrate a patrol consisting of TIE/fo space superiority fighter and became lodged within the bomb bays. The _Hammer _then initiated a jump to hyperspace, carrying all the gathered probes. Rose together with Paige Tico would eventually make their way back to the planet and establish contact with Bravo Rising. Reeve Panzoro would provide the Resistance with a comprehensive account of the harsh blockade and the foremost requirements of the freedom fighters. Fossil took charge of her teams to implement these necessities within a timeframe of 48 hours. Among the most crucial additions was Rose's power baffler, a device engineered to render spacecraft undetectable by power sources.

Refnu

Rose proceeded to equip every ship with a power baffler, enabling the bombers to navigate undetected. They were scheduled to land on Refnu, a frigid and unwelcoming planet, which was in need of ice bombers similar to their own. The strategy involved conducting four runs to Bravo, with each run comprising five bombers engaging in ice bombing on Refnu as a cover, while six others executed the actual supply run.

First run

The initial run appeared to be progressing flawlessly, with the bombers successfully deploying their cargo of water condensers, sustenance, fuel, blaster ammunition, and other supplies into the ruins of a city. However, shortly before the drop, the power baffler on the _Treasure _malfunctioned due to a technician's accidental disconnection of several plugs. This alerted a nearby TIE fighter squadron, which launched an attack, but suffered significant losses. Nevertheless, one TIE fighter managed to escape and relay the information back to command.

Second run

The second run mirrored the plan of the first, involving four ships from Cobalt and two from Crimson Squadron. The assault occurred as they exited the asteroid belt. The Hammer was the initial target, but its shields withstood the barrage. The _Scarab _and Wasp were less fortunate. The Hornet managed to eliminate several TIEs while attempting to maneuver, but was ultimately overwhelmed. The reckless fighters pursued their remaining targets and subsequently took several losses from collisions in asteroids, mines, space debris (of the bombers). The surviving bombers retreated to Refnu.

Third run

Recognizing the need to revise their strategy, Fossil instructed the ships to fly in pairs and approach the planet from varying angles. One ship would proceed normally, carrying the cargo, while the other, faster and unladen, would provide cover. Given the losses incurred during the previous mission, only two ships could remain behind for icebreaking duties. En route, the _Hammer _and the Belle engaged in combat with TIEs, emerging victorious by luring them into the asteroid field.

Fourth and final run

Due to the squadron's failure to complete a drop during the second run, an additional drop was necessary. These subsequent runs proceeded without incident, as no First Order forces engaged them. This was attributed to the Hosnian Cataclysm and the subsequent attack on Starkiller Base, leading to an all-out conflict between the Resistance and the First Order. These forces were likely redeploying to secure the remaining territories of the New Republic.

Aftermath

Following the successful assistance provided to Bravo Rising, Cobalt and Crimson squadrons were evacuated to D'Qar in anticipation of the impending attack by the Ninka. Rose received a promotion and was assigned to Vice Admiral Holdo's ship.
