Bando Gora

The Bando Gora was a dark side cult that existed on Kohlma, which orbited the planet Bogden as one of its moons, situated within the Inner Rim. This group made their home within a sprawling citadel, where they utilized neurotoxins designed to manipulate the mind. These toxins, meticulously crafted to suppress individuality and autonomy, coupled with their mastery of the Force, allowed them to transform addicts into a subservient army of slaves and deadly assassins.

At some point, the Fallen Jedi Komari Vosa ascended to the position of High Priestess. Her influence spread throughout the galaxy, and she became a figure of fear and intrigue, especially among criminals, often killing those who opposed them or refused conversion.

History

Originating as a mysterious cult on Kohlma, a satellite of Bogden, the Bando Gora began their rise to power. The moon had become a vast burial ground following a devastating war on the planet, with countless bodies transported to mass graves. A group of grave robbers eventually united, forming the Bando Gora, a group of assassins who became known as some of the most ruthless in the galactic underworld.

In the Outer Rim and on less civilized planets across the galaxy, the cult maintained control through fear, often killing those who resisted or refused to join their ranks. Their assassinations began to cripple some of the galaxy's most powerful industries. Shortly after the Battle of Galidraan, the cult launched an attack on the planet Baltizaar. The Galactic Republic requested assistance from the Jedi, but they were ill-prepared for the Bando Gora's strength. The Jedi suffered heavy losses and were nearly defeated, but ultimately managed to drive the cult away.

Komari Vosa was a member of the Jedi task force. She was captured by the cult along with two others and subjected to brutal torture. Giving in to the dark side of the Force, she escaped and murdered her captors and fellow prisoners before seizing control of the cult.

Bando Gora captain

The cult's members developed a grotesque appearance, marked by black mottled skin and eyes that glowed red or blue. Bando Gora captains typically wore frightening masks adorned with long, curved horns and wielded staffs capable of projecting green balls of fire. Shortly after the Battle of Naboo, the Bando Gora developed a particularly potent form of death stick, containing even stronger narcotics used to brainwash their victims. These drugs also diminished their intellect, transforming them into mindless servants of Vosa's twisted will.

The Bando Gora allied themselves with Black Sun, Gardulla Besadii the Elder, and Ars Veruna, the corrupt king of Naboo, to orchestrate an attack on Sojourn, the fortress of Sith Lord Darth Plagueis, who was an enemy of Veruna. However, Plagueis's apprentice, Darth Sidious, secretly orchestrated the assassination attempt. The Dark Lord dispatched his apprentice, Darth Maul, to the prison of Cog Hive Seven to locate Iram Radique, a secluded and influential arms dealer, and acquire the nuclear bomb he was developing there. Radique's deep-seated hatred for the Bando Gora (who had previously attempted to assassinate him) complicated the deal. Eventually, Maul killed Radique, and the bomb was delivered to the Bando Gora, who used it to destroy Sojourn. Plagueis managed to escape with the help of Jabba Desilijic Tiure, a rival of Gardulla. In the aftermath, the Sith Lord exacted his revenge: Darth Maul was sent to eliminate Black Sun's leadership, Plagueis personally dealt with Veruna, and Jabba was left to decide Gardulla's fate. However, the Bando Gora escaped the Sith's retribution.

Following Darth Plagueis's death at the hands of Sidious during the Naboo crisis, the new Dark Lord of the Sith began to perceive the Bando Gora as a dangerous threat, fearing the potential consequences of having a former Jedi like Komari Vosa at their helm. He instructed his new apprentice, Darth Tyranus, who was also Komari Vosa's former Jedi Master, to execute her and destroy the cult to prevent them from jeopardizing their long-term plans.

Dooku hired bounty hunters Jango Fett and Montross to hunt down Vosa, offering them 5 million Republic credits, an offer few could resist. After pursuing the Dark Jedi to Kohlma, the burial moon of Bogden, and defeating his rival, Fett breached Vosa's heavily defended fortress and engaged her in a fierce battle. He ultimately defeated Komari but spared her life. Dooku, who appeared to be present, intervened and used the dark side to choke her to death, effectively decapitating the Bando Gora and ending their reign of terror. He revealed that he had known Vosa's location all along, that this was a test and made an agreement with Jango for him to become the template for a clone army.

Religion and philosophy

The Bando Gora engaged in the dark arts and were particularly dangerous due to their use of a mind-altering substance. This substance transformed individuals into obedient, mindless followers who obeyed without question.
