Battle of Barison
The Battle of Barison represents a clash that took place in the Barison system during 13 ABY. It pitted the forces of the Imperial Remnant against those of the New Republic.
Context
After the New Republic secured a victory over Moff Getelles in the Antemeridian sector, they advanced through the neutral Borderland Regions towards the Hydian Way, which marked the boundary of Imperial Space. Concerned about the changing balance of power in the area, the Moffs of the Imperial Remnant instructed Admiral Gilad Pellaeon to deploy his fleet across the Hydian Way. Diverted from his campaign targeting Adumar, Pellaeon committed his forces to confront the New Republic.
Combat
While a segment of the Imperial military launched an assault on New Republic units within the Lucazec system, another engaged the Republic's forces in the Barison system. The Empire emerged as the victor, dealing significant losses to the New Republic.
Consequences
Having achieved victory at Barison, the Imperial forces pressed onward towards the Arda system, where they ultimately suffered a defeat.
