The Clash on Bespin, which took place in 12 ABY, formed a segment of the Empire Reborn operation.
This conflict unfolded after Kyle Katarn journeyed to Cloud City. He had previously connected with Lando Calrissian on Nar Shaddaa. Calrissian informed Katarn about Remnant activities occurring within Cloud City, explaining that it had been seized by Reelo Baruk's followers. They utilized the Lady Luck to secretly enter the lower levels of the city.
Within a chamber reminiscent of the one where Darth Vader delivered his shocking revelation to Luke Skywalker, Katarn encountered an unusual figure: a Dark Jedi known as a Reborn. Katarn engaged and defeated this being. Utilizing Calrissian's R5-series astromech droid, he successfully gained entry to the city's surface.
Joining forces with the Bespin Wing Guards, Katarn initially eliminated all of Reelo's henchmen in the lower sectors before driving all Remnant forces from the city. Tavion Axmis, Desann's apprentice, faced Katarn in combat. Katarn was victorious, and using the Force-grip ability, he held Axmis, prepared to end her life. She, in a state of terrified pleading, revealed to him that Jan Ors, presumed deceased, was in fact alive aboard the Doomgiver, and begged for her life to be spared. He chose to let her live, and then embarked on a transport to the Cairn Installation.
