In the latter part of the 50s BBY, the Melida, who were one of the two warring groups on the planet Melida/Daan alongside the Daan, launched an invasion of the village that was home to the Daan child named Nield and his cousin at that time. Nield's cousin managed to flee the village, bringing Nield with her to the city known as Zehava. Sometime later, specifically in 44 BBY, Nield's friend Cerasi would describe the hardships he faced as a child, including this particular conflict, to the Jedi Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi.
This specific battle receives a short mention in the young readers book The Defenders of the Dead from 1999. It represents the fifth book in the Jedi Apprentice series for young readers, written by Jude Watson.
