A village served as the residence of the Daan child Nield and his cousin on the planet of Melida/Daan during the 50s BBY. Toward the end of that decade, the Melida tribe, engaged in a civil war with the Daan, launched an invasion of the village, which compelled Nield and his cousin to escape to the city of Zehava.
The young readers book The Defenders of the Dead from 1999, the fifth installment in Jude Watson's Jedi Apprentice young readers series, contains a brief mention of Nield's village; specifically, Nield's friend Cerasi describes the hardships of Nield's early life to Jedi Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi.
