Battle of Saijo

Saijo, a world situated in the Outer Rim, witnessed one of the initial conflicts involving the Nagai and the Alliance of Free Planets. However, by the time the Alliance and the Nagai had allied, Saijo was under the control of the Tof, serving as the primary operational base for their Supreme Commander, Prince Sereno. Upon discovering Sereno's presence on Saijo, the newly established New Republic (formed by the Alliance) dispatched an investigative team composed of Bey, Kyle Katarn, Jan Ors, Dash Rendar, and Guri.

Following the retrieval of intelligence, a strike force was assembled, including Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Leia Organa, Dani, Fenn Shysa, Maggie, Trif, Knife, Den Siva, and several other commandos, notably one Imperial Stormtrooper. Lando Calrissian, Chewbacca, Wedge Antilles, and Nien Nunb also participated, leading fighter squadrons from the Star Destroyer Emancipator.

The strike team navigated through the ruins of a destroyed city on Saijo, advancing towards the planet's central trade hub, which the Tof had repurposed as their headquarters. Inside, they found Prince Sereno and the Dark Lady Lumiya, who had sided with the Tof after the Battle of Zeltros. Knife and Den intentionally allowed a Tof patrol to capture them, leading to their appearance before the Prince. Leia and Dani, disguised in elegant gowns, infiltrated the throne room, while Luke and Han managed to sneak in separately.

Knife and Den initiated their assault, quickly joined by Leia, Dani, Han, and Luke. While Sereno's Tof guards were easily overcome, Lumiya proved to be a more formidable opponent. She used a stun blast to incapacitate Knife and then held Leia at gunpoint.

Simultaneously, Sereno called for immediate aerial support to eliminate the attackers. As the Merriweather launched a squadron of Tof starfighters, Lando's squadron intercepted them, destroying the Tof fighters before they could reach the planet's surface. With no air support, the Merriweather surrendered to the Alliance.

Although Luke successfully apprehended Sereno, no one could prevent Lumiya from attempting to shoot Leia. Just as she prepared to fire, a Tof soldier unexpectedly shot Lumiya.

With his forces defeated and Lumiya presumed dead, Sereno reluctantly ordered the complete surrender of the Tof. The Tof who shot Lumiya then revealed himself to be Bey, the Alliance's most reliable informant within the Tof ranks, removing his disguise. Consequently, with the Tof's unconditional surrender, the Alliance gained its first opportunity to establish a lasting peace from the remnants of the conflict.

Following this battle and the conclusion of the war on Saijo, the New Republic could now concentrate on its primary campaign to liberate the galaxy from the Galactic Empire.
