Bedgar

Bedgar was a commandant at the Corulag Military Academy, serving the Galactic Empire on the Core Worlds planet of Corulag. He taught officer cadets at the Imperial Academy, focusing on the complexities of military administration. To ensure a balanced education, the academy paired instructors with complementary skills, leading to Bedgar's partnership with Commandant Angor, who specialized in comprehensive combat strategy instruction. Together, they produced well-rounded officers adept in both combat and administrative leadership. Their curriculum, titled Combined Officer's Curriculum 27, was archived within the "Corulag Imperial Military Academy" section of the Imperial Archives. In 35 ABY, historian Beaumont Kin included Bedgar in his book, The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire.

Behind the scenes

Dr. Chris Kempshall's 2024 reference work, Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, featured Bedgar. The character's name is a nod to YouTuber Ben Edgar, known as Bedgar in Minecraft and a collaborator with YouTuber Tom Clark, who inspired Angor's name. These two have hinted at the possibility of cosplaying as the commandants sometime in the future.
