Blackvine, a green parasitic plant in the form of a vine, thrived on Dagobah, a planet. By 3 ABY, this blackvine had created natural bridge formations across sections of the swamp near Yoda's hut in Dragonsnake Bog, where the Jedi was exiled. Furthermore, blackvine flourished atop the sentient Cave of Evil nearby, which considered itself a concealed snare beneath the foliage of blackvine.
The initial reference to blackvine appeared in the 2016 publication Star Wars: Complete Locations, within a segment authored by James Luceno and visually depicted by Richard Chasemore along with Hans Jenssen. This locale initially surfaced within the Star Wars Legends narrative, with its inaugural mention in the 2004 reference work titled Inside the Worlds of Star Wars Trilogy, also penned by Luceno, featuring illustrations from Chasemore and Jenssen.
