Bodhar

Bodhar bones were suitable material for crafting xyloxan tone bars. Bodhar designated a species whose skeletal bones provided the raw material for the tone keys found on xyloxans, a particular type of musical instrument. The musician known as Ubert Quaril utilized a xyloxan featuring tone bars constructed from bodhar-bone while performing at the castle belonging to the pirate Maz Kanata on the planet called Takodana, approximately three decades following the Battle of Endor.

Behind the scenes

The bodhar bones initially surfaced as a component of a prop featured in Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, a motion picture that debuted in 2015. While the film did not specify the substance's identity, it received its name in the reference publication Star Wars: The Force Awakens: The Visual Dictionary, authored by Pablo Hidalgo, which was made available the day after the film's release.
