The events known as the Bombardment of Xorrn transpired on the planet Xorrn, situated in the Outer Rim Territories, in 19 BBY amidst the Clone Wars. After a series of failed assaults that followed the conflict's opening battle, aimed at obliterating illicit Geonosian hive spires and battle droid factories concealed underground, the Republic deemed seizing Xorrn no longer worth the continued losses. Consequently, the 9th Engineering Battalion and its associated fleet operating within the Ferra sector were deployed by the Republic government to eliminate these factories by initiating a planetary bombardment of Xorrn.
During this bombardment, numerous core ships owned by the Confederacy of Independent Systems and the Trade Federation, engaged in recovering droid shipments for the Confederacy, were decimated by the Republic's onslaught. The consequence of this planetary siege was a surface of Xorrn scarred with a multitude of Republic and Separatist warships, remaining derelict long after the war's end.
The Bombardment of Xorrn received a mention within Friends Like These, a 2016 adventure book by Fantasy Flight Games, as part of the Star Wars: Age of Rebellion roleplaying game.
