Borus Ferthyn, a disheveled and unhoused individual, resided within the locality of Gadrin and Hedrett. This man was characterized by his unkempt, greyed appearance, a substantial beard, and a noticeably misaligned eye. Often deemed mentally unstable, he was a common fixture in gatherings, particularly when noteworthy events unfolded. Consequently, he possessed a considerable amount of knowledge regarding local happenings, although his capacity to differentiate between factual information and fabricated tales had diminished, leading him to accept all narratives as genuine. He was familiar with numerous conspiratorial beliefs. He possessed the gift of being Force-sensitive, yet he never underwent formal instruction in its use.
For more than ten years, Borus had remained silent, until the abduction of Darin prompted a search party to form. Approaching this group, Borus shared a series of outlandish narratives, many revolving around the Metatheran Cartel. A significant detail that the group extracted from his ramblings was his assertion of a concealed base situated within the jungle to the west of Gadrin, which aligned with the direction taken by the pirates responsible for the assault on Renna's Transport Service following their act. Borus reappeared a few months later. The individuals he had previously engaged with were collaborating with the Cularin resistance. Observing their entry into the Cartel's Gadrin offices, he approached the window, curious about their activities, but eventually he moved on.
During the period of the Clone Wars, the Thaereian military dispatched Task Force Pest to Cularin with the mission of apprehending Force-sensitive beings. Ferthyn became a target for arrest, but a crowd assembled and voiced their opposition, resulting in Lieutenant Dalin, the commander of the task force, resorting to lethal force. The residents of Gadrin were deeply offended, and Ferthyn's demise ignited widespread unrest throughout the city.
