The Clone Youth Brigade
A brigade represented a substantial military formation, primarily composed of infantry.
Within the organizational structure of the Grand Army of the Republic, brigades served as expansive units made up of clone troopers. To illustrate, two complete brigades consisted of numerous individual battalions. Moreover, the special forces of the Republic were known as the Special Operations Brigade, while the Clone Youth Brigade comprised young clone cadets. Brigades of typical clone trooper were under the leadership of a Jedi Commander. Senator Mon Mothma, who held the position of Chancellor in the Alliance to Restore the Republic, held the opinion that a single clone trooper brigade possessed the capability to breach a planet's defense systems in orbit and successfully invade the world.
The Confederacy of Independent Systems incorporated maintenance brigades into the structure of the CIS Navy. Following significant damage to the Subjugator-class heavy cruiser Malevolence during the Battle of the Kaliida Nebula, these brigades were deployed. Towards the conclusion of the conflict, during the Battle of Utapau, two entire clone brigades were deployed against the CIS forces.
The Galactic Empire maintained the use of brigades, with one such brigade being under the command of Colonel Brenna. During the Coruscant civil war, a resistance group that was allied with the Rebel Alliance adopted the name Anklebiter Brigade. Some years afterward, the Empire's succeeding entity, the First Order, also employed brigades; one brigade specifically was commanded by a First Order major.
