Brolsam, an agriworld, existed as a planet within the Outer Rim Territories' Kathol sector, specifically in the system of the same name. Situated on a branch extending from the Trition Trade Route, it lay between Torize and the sector capital of Kal'Shebbol. The presence of substantial Fefze swarms allowed Brolsam to cultivate an industry centered on agriculture, even though its distance from the sector's main trade route hindered its economic advancement. Moreover, the planet became known as a haven for artists. Following the collapse of Imperial authority in the sector after the New Republic forces liberated Kal'Shebbol in 8 ABY, Brolsam teetered on the verge of a civil conflict.
Brolsam, a planet, was part of the Kathol sector in the Outer Rim Territories, residing within the Brolsam system. The world was accessible via a spur route branching off the Trition Trade Route, located between the Torize systems and Kal'Shebbol. Hyperlane connections linked Brolsam to the Aaris systems and Kal'Shebbol; the sector capital, Kal'Shebbol, was a journey of one day and six hours away using a Class One hyperdrive, while Aaris III was three days and nine hours distant. Its growth in population and development were impeded by its lack of key resources and its separation from the Trition Trade Route. Despite having areas on the surface that contained back alleys, the planet flourished as an agricultural world with vast fields. Fifteen million residents called the planet home, divided equally among Humans, Rodians, and Fefze.
When the Galactic Empire assumed control of the Kathol sector, Brolsam fell under Imperial dominion. Imperial officials were appointed to govern the inhabitants, and the Nat'xikta, a small but affluent Fefze tribe that conducted spy activities for the Empire, secretly supported the new administration. Following the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, Moff Kentor Sarne, the sector's ruler, seceded from the Empire, incorporating Brolsam into his warlord territories.

After the New Republic liberated Kal'Shebbol in 8 ABY, and subsequently expanded its influence in the sector, numerous Fefze swarms formed alliances with disgruntled Humans and Rodians, initiating the roundup and imprisoning of Imperial sympathizers and officials. However, their efforts lacked organization, prompting Imperial forces to employ guerrilla warfare to destabilize them. This situation threatened to engulf the entire planet in civil unrest. The Nat'xikta tribe, fearing the loss of their influence and status on Brolsam, began to plot the liberation of the imprisoned Imperials. Enlisting Rodian mercenaries, they were willing to sacrifice hundreds of their own swarm to ensure the success of their plan.
During its mission to locate Moff Sarne, who had escaped Kal'Shebbol following the New Republic's assault, the New Republic CR90 corvette FarStar made a stop at Brolsam. A mission group deployed to the planet was subsequently ambushed by Rodian mercenaries. A member of the mission group was captured during the ensuing skirmish. First Officer Gorak Khzam and procurement specialist Loh'khar the Finder, utilizing their expertise of the planet, skills, and contacts, successfully located and rescued their missing crewmate. They also uncovered the Nat'xikta swarm's scheme to free the imprisoned Imperials.
While Brolsam was home to significant Human and Rodian populations, the Fefze swarms played a dominant role in shaping the planet's culture. The swarms were essential to the growth of the planet's agricultural sector, and their presence cultivated a genteel artiste community that centered around their affinity for art festivals, sculptures, and song.
Brolsam was featured within The DarkStryder Campaign, which served as a supplement to Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game by West End Games. While the planet was not directly involved in any adventure, it was included as a location for Gamemasters to use in original adventures. A particular "adventure hook" was detailed in the Omens scenario. This article posits that the FarStar did indeed visit the planet, as outlined in the published adventure hook.
