Buckethead

Stormtroopers were sometimes called "buckethead".

During the Galactic Empire's reign, the pejorative term "Buckethead" (with variant spellings like "bucket-head" or "bucket head") was a common way to refer to stormtroopers, or anyone else in similar armor. This name came from the bucket-like shape of the stormtroopers' helmets, which even those within the Empire sometimes jokingly called "buckets." Ezra Bridger used this term for both stormtroopers and Agent Kallus, and even Han Solo used it for TIE fighter pilots. The term remained in use more than thirty years later, with Poe Dameron applying it to stormtroopers of the First Order. Kazuda Xiono also used it during the Battle of Castilon.

During the Clone Wars, specifically during the Ambush on Rugosa, one B1-series battle droid used the term as an insult towards another B1 unit.

The designation "Bucket-head" was also applied to BB-series astromech droids featuring dome-shaped heads with a flat top, such as the droid CB-23 who served as a member of the Resistance.
