Canderous-class assault tank

The Canderous-class assault tank, a heavily armored repulsor vehicle, was manufactured by MandalMotors. It saw action with the Zann Consortium during the era of the Galactic Civil War.

Description

MandalMotors was the manufacturer of the Canderous-class assault tank. Its namesake was the renowned Mandalorian warrior, Canderous Ordo. The tank's armor provided a level of protection comparable to that of an Imperial walker. Armament included a pair of heavy mass-driver cannons along with a concussion missile battery. Despite the vehicle's considerable mass, it possessed the ability to navigate terrains inaccessible to walkers.

History

Two Canderous tanks protect a F9-TZ Transport.

These tanks were costly, restricting their ownership to the wealthiest entities. Tyber Zann, the crime lord leading the Zann Consortium, was known to incorporate several Canderous-class tanks within his military organization.

The substantial armor of these tanks allowed them to withstand significant damage. To further enhance survivability, they were outfitted with a sensor control system that diverted enemy fire towards the tank, providing temporary relief for allied units. An energy shield was also integrated to deflect blaster weaponry. These features, combined with the tank's inherent armor, made it a formidable opponent.

In 44 ABY, Mandalorian commander Belok Rhal initially deployed these tanks during the siege of the Jedi Temple located on Coruscant, as well as in the suppression of the Octusi revolt occurring on Blaudu Sextus.
