Blaudu Sextus

Blaudu Sextus, a planet, was primarily utilized by its inhabitants as a mining colony. These inhabitants included Octusi servants. In the year 44 ABY, these servants were preparing to stage a revolt. Natasi Daala, the Chief of State of the Galactic Alliance, gave the order for a contingent of Mandalorian mercenaries to suppress the impending uprising.

History

Serving as a mining colony, Bladudu Sextus was a planet that housed the Sextuna Mining Corporation. The Octusi were used as servants on this world, which also possessed a police force capable of managing minor demonstrations. However, this force lacked the strength to quell a full-scale rebellion. A freedom march for the enslaved people took place in 44 ABY. Upon learning of this, Natasi Daala, the Chief of State of the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances, instructed her Chief of Staff, Wynn Dorvan, to get in touch with Belok Rhal, a Mandalorian Commander. The goal was to hire a brigade of Mandalorians, using the mining company as an intermediary, to prevent the potential uprising. Simultaneously, Freedom Flight, an anti-slavery organization spanning the galaxy, became aware of the situation. Blink, a member of Freedom Flight, alerted Madhi Vaandt, a reporter, and suggested she go to Blaudu Sextus instead of Klatooine, where another uprising had recently started.

Vaandt journeyed to Blaudu Sextus, where Freedom Flight had instigated a revolt among the pacifistic Octusi species. Vaandt provided coverage of the revolt as Mandalorian troops arrived and responded with violence against the Octusi. Shortly thereafter, Belok Rhal himself led a massacre of the Octusi in Arari, the capital city, after they refused to cease their revolt. Vaandt reported live on the event, but Rhal discovered her presence and attacked, fatally shooting her. However, Shohta Laar, Vaandt's assistant, took over, continuing the report and aiding in Rhal's capture by Jedi Knights Sothais Saar and Avinoam Arelis who had just arrived.

Behind the scenes

Jason Fry verified that the mention of the "Blaudu Sextus system" in the Essential Atlas Online Companion (within the Prefsbelt sector) was an error. Blaudu Sextus was correctly placed in the Regulan system, as indicated in the appendix.
