Carith

Carith, also known as Grommet, held the rank of Flight Officer within the Imperial forces. He formed a friendship with Maarek Stele. Their initial encounter occurred on the Nebulon-B frigate called the Fogger, amidst a series of Imperial assaults on Alliance forces, which culminated in the destruction of the Calamari Light Cruiser named Lulsla.

Grommet functioned as the de facto leader of a tight-knit pilot group, including Alimet and Ketcher. These three were close companions, typically serving together on the same vessels. Records indicate their service alongside Maarek Stele on the Fogger, and later on the Nebulon-B2 frigate Ludwick, as part of an operation led by Vice Admiral Thrawn to construct the NL-1 defense platform within the Pakuuni system.

Grommet possessed a tendency for mischief, often leading his informal pilot group into problematic situations. During their time on the Ludwick, he persuaded Alimet, Ketcher, and Stele to join him on an unsanctioned visit to the ship's hangar while Vice Admiral Thrawn was present. Their actions were discovered, and as a consequence, their commanding officer, Commander Buckeye, ordered them to clean up a pirate base recently captured by the Empire as punishment.

Sometime between his service on the Ludwick and the development of the TIE Defender prototype by Grand Admiral Demetrius Zaarin, Grommet encountered a female officer from the Alliance during a period of leave. He quickly fell in love with her, leading to his decision to defect to the Alliance. During a planetside visit, Grommet went AWOL and was never seen or heard from again. This news deeply shocked his former comrades, Maarek Stele and Alimet. Stele, already grappling with doubts about the Empire's methods and motivations, found the prospect of potentially having to engage a friend in combat deeply unsettling.
