After she managed to get away from torture, she took out the kyber crystal and sold the crystal to assist Greez Dritus in clearing his debts with the Haxion Brood, deciding to hold onto the hilt. Later, on Ilum, she gave it to Cal Kestis so he could construct a new lightsaber using its components. Over the course of the five years that Cere and Cal were apart, Cere made a new lightsaber for herself that emitted a blue blade.
