Chelleya was a celestial body situated in the Chelleya system, which itself resided within the Seswenna sector of the Outer Rim Territories'.
During the 4 ABY invasion of the galaxy by the extragalactic Nagai raiders, Shea Hublin, a Human Imperial pilot, commanded a squadron of TIE Interceptor starfighters belonging to the Eriadu Authority. They successfully repelled the attacking forces at Chelleya. This triumph by Hublin altered the Nagai's planned route of conquest, diverting them away from Eriadu, the capital planet of the Authority.
The reference book The Essential Guide to Warfare, released in 2012 and written by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart, provided the initial mention of Chelleya. Furthermore, the StarWars.com Online Companion for the 2009 reference work The Essential Atlas specified that the Chelleya system, and consequently Chelleya itself, was located in grid square M-18.
