Colandrus

Colandrus was a Tarsunt of the male gender who served as the representative for the Suntilla system within the Galactic Republic's Senate during the time between the Invasion of Naboo and the Clone Wars. As one of the Senate's most powerful delegates, he was also among the most deeply dishonest. Addicted to gambling, Colandrus needed to constantly find ways to pay off debts, and he obtained funds from every planet he had influence over, exchanging political support for credits. However, he was careful to only take small amounts in each instance, making it hard to prove his corruption.

Three years following the Invasion of Naboo, Sheev Palpatine, the Republic's Supreme Chancellor, took Anakin Skywalker, a promising Jedi apprentice, to Club Kasakar, a place where Colandrus frequently gambled. The Chancellor and the Jedi, both wearing disguises, watched the Tarsunt senator from a distance as he placed bets at a game table. Colandrus lost a significant amount of money on his most recent dice roll. Unbeknownst to the Tarsunt, Skywalker might have used his telekinetic Jedi power to manipulate the dice, influenced by Palpatine's negative description of the senator.

Colandrus overheard Palpatine—not recognizing him beneath his cloak—laughing at his misfortune, and he ordered his bodyguard to confront him. The disguised Chancellor, however, diffused the situation by claiming that "his son" had just told him a joke, promising that they would leave immediately. Still suspicious, Colandrus nonetheless allowed the cloaked figures to depart without resistance.
