The colo claw fish, alternatively written as colo clawfish, was a sizable and terrifying creature inhabiting the deep waters of Naboo, including the Cordaxian Sea. This creature possessed a flattened, eel-like body, a tail that emitted light, a head resembling a crocodile, a mouth full of sharp teeth, and a set of mandibles. It also had venomous fangs, which it utilized to paralyze its targets. Due to its slow digestive process, the colo claw fish risked being consumed from within if it failed to kill its prey before ingestion. Situated just behind its head were a pair of large claws, employed to force food into its expansive mouth. The colo claw fish's skin, capable of producing its own light, served to attract unsuspecting prey.
During their attempt to reach Theed during the Invasion of Naboo, Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Jar Jar Binks faced an attack from a colo claw fish. However, before it could even make contact with their bongo, it was ambushed and consumed by an even larger predator, the sando aqua monster.

The physical characteristics of the colo claw fish included a flattened body similar to that of an eel, bioluminescent skin, a tail capable of emitting light, a head reminiscent of a crocodile, a mouth filled with sharp teeth, a set of mandibles, and venomous fangs. Its digestive system was notably slow. Furthermore, it featured a serpentine body adorned with spines. It could generate a powerful hydrosonic shriek to disorient its prey. The colo claw fish had the ability to swallow prey larger than its own head by dislocating its jaw, and it could expand its stomach to accommodate large meals.
Colo claw fish were considered palatable, consumed by both Sullustans and humans. Their eggs were considered a delicacy, enjoyed by affluent individuals like Dryden Vos.

Colo claw fish would conceal themselves within tunnels along the oceanic floor of Naboo, remaining motionless for extended hours as they awaited potential prey, such as young opee sea killers, scalefish, and larger fish. Prior to launching an attack, it would emit a hydrosonic shriek to confuse its prey. Subsequently, it would use its venomous fangs to stun the victim and then distend its jaw to consume it. If the prey remained conscious after being swallowed, it might attempt to escape by chewing its way out of the colo claw fish's stomach. The sando aqua monsters were known to prey on colo claw fish.
The colo claw fish originated from the planets Naboo and Odona. In 32 BBY, Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Jar Jar Binks utilized a Gungan bongo submarine to navigate through the Naboo's core in order to reach Theed. During their journey, a colo claw fish attacked their bongo, only to be subsequently attacked and devoured by a sando aqua monster.
The colo claw fish made its debut appearance in the 1999 film Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, which served as the initial installment in the Star Wars prequel trilogy.
The initial designs for the colo claw fish drew inspiration from the earwig. Later, elements from a crocodile and a moray eel were incorporated into the design.
