Construction droid
Construction droids, which are also referred to as constructor droids or builder droids, were a type of droid designed for use in construction projects. The construction of the Trade Federation laboratory was one such project that employed builder droids. On one occasion, Thane Kyrell and his team, while Kyrell was acting as a co-pilot and navigator for the Wookiee named Lohgarra, transported a shipment of constructor droids to the frigid planet called Zeitooine.
History
Kamino
Following the great flood that occurred on Kamino, the native Kaminoans used repulsorlift construction droids to erect their contemporary cities. One example of such a city was Tipoca City, their planetary capital, built on massive stilts reaching down to the waterworld's ocean floor. The majority of construction and repair activities were performed during the short annual period when Kamino experienced a break from its constant rain storms.
Lothal
After the Galactic Empire seized control of Beck Ollet's family's jogan fruit orchards on Lothal, they made use of enormous construction droids and other pieces of equipment for strip-mining operations. Zare Leonis considered this equipment to be so out of date that he described it as "primitive stuff that should have been melted down before the Clone Wars." Although utilizing more sophisticated equipment could have preserved the surrounding terrain, the Empire was unwilling to invest more than the most minimal credits in the endeavor.
While a cadet at the Academy for Young Imperials, Leonis witnessed construction droids destroying grasslands located in the Easthills to facilitate the construction of a new weapons lab for BlasTech Industries.
During his time at the Arkanis Academy, Leonis was tasked with killing Penn Zarang as an initiation into the [Commandant's Cadets](/article/commandant%27s_cadets]. With assistance from Lieutenant Chiron and Zarang himself, he buried a side of nerf in place of the body. Orman le Hivre, who had doubts about the authenticity of the body, suggested using a construction droid to dig it up, but [Anya Razar](/article/anya_razar] did not believe it was worth the effort, and the group ultimately accepted that Leonis had indeed killed Zarang.
