Biography

During the Republic era of the Galactic Republic, COO-2180, a COO-series cook droid, was in service aboard the AA-9 Freighter-Liner Jendirian Valley. This vessel served as a transport for refugees, and COO-2180's role was to distribute modest meals to those aboard. COO-2180's presence on the Jendirian Valley is recorded in the year 22 BBY, a time when the ship journeyed from Coruscant, the Galactic Republic's capital planet, to the world of Naboo.

While en route, the astromech droid known as R2-D2 sought to procure food for his associates, Senator Padmé Amidala and her protector, the Jedi Padawan Anakin Skywalker. They were traveling discreetly following a thwarted attempt on Amidala's life. As COO-2180 dispensed servings of flatcakes, it noticed R2-D2 approaching the service counter, an action that risked incurring the cook droid's displeasure. The cook droid voiced its disapproval, stating that droids were not permitted in the queue, yet R2-D2 proceeded to collect food. Consequently, COO-2180 drove the astromech droid away, flipping a plate of flatcakes in the process.

Characteristics

COO-2180 serves flatcakes aboard the Jendirian Valley.

COO-2180, a cooking droid of the COO-series, was categorized as a fifth class droid designed for kitchen duties. COO-2180 possessed six retractable arms capable of accommodating various tools, along with magnetized feet for secure attachment to deck surfaces. Its plating was a combination of brown and gray, and it featured a white photoreceptor enabling infrared vision for analyzing heat distribution during cooking. An olfactory sensor allowed it to detect spoiled food.

Similar to other COO-series droids, its recipe data was stored in its torso, with the upper set of arms preventing the cognitive module in its head from accessing it. Given the prohibition of droids queuing for food on the Jendirian Valley, COO-2180 was annoyed by R2-D2's presence at the counter, leading the irritable cook droid to expel the astromech.
